Another Dangerous Day of Heat for Simpson County
SIMPSON COUNTY, Miss. — Tuesday will bring another dangerously hot day across Simpson County, with temperatures expected to climb to around 102 degrees.
Partly sunny skies are expected for much of the day. An isolated afternoon thunderstorm is possible, but most locations should remain dry.
The overnight low will fall only to around 76 degrees, providing limited nighttime relief.
The combination of extreme heat and high humidity will make prolonged outdoor activity potentially dangerous.
Anyone working or exercising outside should take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning, drink fluids regularly and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the afternoon.
And remember, the thermometer does not tell the entire story.
High humidity can push the heat index significantly higher than the actual air temperature, increasing the risk of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
The Williams Weather Window Bottom Line
Tuesday will be another day to take the heat seriously.
High: Around 102°
Low: Around 76°
Rain chance: Isolated afternoon thunderstorms
Keep the water nearby, limit strenuous afternoon activity and check on anyone who may be especially vulnerable to extreme heat.
