As we conclude this series, Where Are The Men, let’s look back at some key points from the first two parts:
As men, we:
• Need to remember we are created in the likeness of God. Genesis 1:26 (KJV) says, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…”
• Need men to help other men become better men. We need accountability partners (Proverbs 27:17, AMP).
• Need to confront our weaknesses head-on and not run from them. The Apostle Paul said that the power of Christ worked best in him when he was at his weakest (2 Corinthians 12:8–12, KJV).
In addition to these three key points, as men we need to be the biggest cheerleaders for our families.
Motivation, encouragement, and affirmation should be second nature in our daily conversations. Our wives need it. Our children need it. And it needs to come from the man.
Children need to see the husband praise and encourage his wife. The wife needs to see the husband motivate and uplift the children. Men, we must bring the positive energy. Life can get hard—but men, no more excuses. We are called to lead.
The best way to lead our family is found in Joshua 24:15: “…But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” Starting right now, I challenge all men (myself included) to rededicate our lives to follow Christ in a way that we never have before.
We need to set the pace, be the example, and let our families see us serve God. Then, as we lead, we can cheer them on as they follow.
Until next week, be intentional about being the motivator, encourager, and head cheerleader your family needs.
