Wednesday Brings Little Immediate Relief From the Heat
SIMPSON COUNTY, Miss. — Wednesday will bring very little immediate improvement to the intense heat affecting Simpson County.
Expect a mixture of clouds and sunshine, with temperatures climbing to around 101 degrees.
A few afternoon thunderstorms could develop, but they should remain scattered rather than widespread.
Wednesday night’s low will settle near 75 degrees, offering only limited overnight relief.
The biggest concern will once again be the combination of temperature and humidity.
The thermometer may read around 101 degrees, but high humidity can push the heat index significantly higher and increase the risk of heat-related illness.
People working outdoors, exercising or spending extended periods outside should take frequent breaks in a cool location and drink fluids regularly.
Know the warning signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and do not ignore symptoms that become severe or worsen.
The Williams Weather Window Bottom Line
Wednesday will look a lot like Tuesday, with dangerous heat continuing across Simpson County.
High: Around 101°
Low: Around 75°
Rain chance: Scattered afternoon thunderstorms
The good news is that some moderation is beginning to appear later in the forecast.
