A Wetter Pattern May Continue Into Sunday

By Meteorologist Paul Williams | Williams Weather Window

SIMPSON COUNTY, Miss. — The weather pattern may stay unsettled Sunday as moisture continues to linger across Mississippi.

At this point, the Sunday forecast should be viewed as a trend rather than a precise day-to-day forecast.

The larger pattern favors continued warmth across the state, while precipitation chances may remain elevated.

That could mean another opportunity for showers across Simpson County.

The important thing to remember is that an extended forecast is not the same as a short-range forecast. Details can change as new weather data arrives.

The overall pattern, however, is becoming clearer.

We could see several cycles of warm weather followed by increasing moisture and rain chances rather than one dramatic cold front suddenly bringing sustained fall weather.

In other words:

Rain.

Brief drying.

Warm-up.

Moisture returns.

That may be the Mississippi weather story for a while.
