Love isn’t only for people we know well. Valentine’s Day is a great reminder that everyone deserves kindness … even strangers.
Students can show love by:
• Smiling at someone new
• Holding the door open
• Writing a kind note to a teacher or classmate
• Helping clean up without being asked
• Checking on someone who looks sad
When we show kindness to others, we make our schools, classrooms, and communities better places for everyone.
Instead of thinking of Valentine’s Day as a holiday about candy, we can think of it as a Day of Kindness … a day to practice empathy, patience, and respect.
When we choose kindness, we honor the original meaning of Valentine’s Day and the message Saint Valentine stood for:
Love is an action. Love is a choice. Love is for everyone.
This February, let’s celebrate Valentine’s Day by spreading kindness … one small act at a time.
