Remember the Covenant

By Dr. Tabatha Pittman

At the Last Supper, Jesus did something deeply significant.

In Luke 22:19, He broke bread and said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”

This was more than a meal.

It was a covenant.

Jesus was preparing His disciples for what was ahead. He knew the cross was near. Yet instead of focusing on fear, He established remembrance.

Because remembrance anchors faith.

In seasons of uncertainty, it is easy to forget what God has already done. But when we remember His faithfulness, our trust grows stronger.

The bread represented His body. The cup represented His blood. Together they symbolized the sacrifice that secured redemption.

This covenant was not temporary. It was eternal.

When life feels uncertain, return to what is certain: God’s love, His sacrifice, and His promise of redemption.

Remembering realigns us.

And what we remember, we can stand on.

Until tomorrow, stay anchored, stay hopeful, and hold on to Yeshua.
