In today’s society, reading is becoming something of a lost art. But reading does more than give us information. It helps us develop common sense, gain wisdom and make better decisions.
I recently read a statement that said, “Common sense suits itself to the world, but wisdom tries to conform to the ways of Heaven.”
That really made me think.
If we believe we are living here on Earth to prepare for a life in Heaven, wouldn’t it make sense to seek all the wisdom we can to help us conform to the ways of Heaven?
Whether you are reading your Bible, a magazine, a newspaper or something else that teaches and informs you, take the time to search for wisdom.
Try it for a while and see if it makes a difference.
We all want to make wise decisions. And if we believe Heaven is our ultimate home, then gaining wisdom and allowing it to guide our lives should matter.
Every day and every week, we witness situations where wise decisions were not made. Sometimes, a little more thought, knowledge and wisdom could make a difference.
So, let’s spare a few minutes each day to read, learn and grow.
It just might make a difference in the decisions we make and the lives we touch.
