Mississippi State University is postponing Friday’s final exam schedule after reviewing the effects of the nationwide Canvas outage during finals week.
The university said exams scheduled for Friday, May 8, will move to Saturday, May 9, using the same examination schedule. MSU said the change will give affected students more time to recover lost course materials and prepare for exams.
For other exams and Canvas-related work affected by the outage, MSU said faculty should work with their departments and colleges to find a reasonable solution that allows students to complete exams or assignments.
The university also encouraged faculty to download current copies of Canvas grade books and any other materials needed to complete courses. MSU said updates on Canvas availability are posted at status.its.msstate.edu.

MSU said it will not direct users to unverified third-party websites for Canvas-related communications or remediation.
The university also urged users not to click suspicious links or interact with messages that may have been posted by threat actors.
