Magee Farmers Market Still On for Saturday, Backup Location Ready if Needed

By The People’s Paper MS Staff

Magee Chamber officials say the Farmers Market is still scheduled for Saturday morning despite increased chances of rain.

Magee Chamber Executive Director Susan Walker said the event will go on as planned for now since rain chances remain relatively low.

“The Farmer’s Market is still scheduled to happen tomorrow. Rain chances have increased somewhat for the morning but we are continuing with our plan since the percentages are low,” Walker said.

Walker added that organizers are prepared to move the market if weather conditions change overnight.

“We do, however, have a back up plan just in case we wake up to rain. The alternate location is at the large covered shed on 1st Ave. NW across from Gene Polks and the old Pearson building,” she said.

Walker said an update will be shared Saturday morning if the location needs to change.

The Magee Farmers Market is set to run from 8 a.m. to noon and will feature fresh produce, baked goods, handmade items, and other local products.

Organizers encourage residents to come out, shop local, and support small businesses.

I hope the backup location works out if the weather takes a turn. Farmer’s markets have such a nice vibe, perfect for Saturday.
