Daily Education Center Offers Personalized Learning Support for Mississippi Families

by K. Monroe Carter

A new educational resource in Mississippi is working to make learning more flexible for students and families. The Daily Education Center, founded by educator Hanna Berry-May, M.Ed., provides support for homeschooling families, students needing academic help, and individuals planning their educational or career paths.

Berry-May, a University of Southern Mississippi graduate with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, said she established the center to guide families through the often complex world of alternative education. The center offers homeschool law guidance, special education advocacy, and assistance with transcripts and diplomas—clarifying that these are homeschool records rather than state-issued diplomas or GEDs.

“I wanted to create something that helps families feel confident in their educational choices,” Berry-May explained. “Whether that’s helping a student plan for college, explore trade school options, or simply find the right curriculum, we meet them where they are.”

The center also provides curriculum support for popular programs like Abeka, standardized test proctoring, college and career readiness services, and tutoring for K–12 and college students.

Berry-May’s teaching background includes roles in special, gifted, and general education. After earning her master’s degree from William Carey University, she taught at Carver Middle School until 2019, when she chose to focus on her family and begin homeschooling her children.

The idea for the Daily Education Center grew from supporting her oldest son, who fast-tracked high school to enroll early at Hinds Community College’s trade program.

“The name ‘Daily Education’ comes from my belief that we learn every day not just during school hours,” she said. Tuition is based on income and family needs, reflecting her philosophy that “no one student learns the same thing, in the same way, on the same day.”
