The Copiah-Lincoln Community College Upward Bound Program will host its annual ABC Academic Celebration on Sunday, May 3, recognizing student achievement across academics, arts and extracurricular activities.
The event is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Co-Lin Simpson County Center, located at 151 Co-Lin Drive in Mendenhall.
Organizers say the celebration highlights the program’s commitment to excellence and honors participants who have demonstrated success “Above Expectations, Beyond Requirements, and Committed to Excellence” during the academic year.
The program will feature comedian and Mississippi native Rita Brent as the guest speaker. Brent is known for blending humor with motivational messaging, and organizers expect her remarks to inspire students as they continue their academic journeys.
The Upward Bound Program, a federally funded college-preparatory initiative, serves high school students by promoting academic success, college readiness and personal development.
Community members, families and supporters are invited to attend and celebrate the accomplishments of local students.
