The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving a Jackson police officer Friday on Raymond Road. The person involved suffered minor injuries and was taken into custody.

Twelve people have been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Claiborne County Deputy Terrian Bailey, according to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety. Bailey was attempting to disperse a large crowd early Sept. 7 when he was shot. The investigation remains ongoing.

The Simpson County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim found inside a running vehicle’s trunk on Tuesday as 25-year-old Gromico Mendez Womack. Investigators believe he suffered a gunshot wound and that his body was transported to Goshen Road.
