Simpson County residents should be ready for a mixed bag of weather from Tuesday through Friday as our pattern swings through clouds, occasional rain chances, and a noticeable cooldown mid-week before temperatures rebound again by the end of the workweek.
We’ll start Tuesday with mostly cloudy skies and mild temperatures, with highs climbing into the low to mid-70s under a mostly cloudy sky. While rain isn’t a sure thing early in the day, conditions will be favorable for showers later in the afternoon and evening, so it’s a good idea to keep rain gear handy if you’re headed out after work. The air will feel somewhat muggy at times, so plan outdoor activities accordingly.
Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, we’ll continue to see clouds and a modest chance of scattered showers, especially after midnight. These won’t be heavy rain events, but they’ll be enough to keep roads damp and the ground soggy in spots by Wednesday morning.
By mid-week, a cooler push settles in. Wednesday will be noticeably cooler with highs in the low to mid-50s, a good reminder to grab a jacket if you’re heading out early. Clearer skies and lighter winds will follow Wednesday night, leading to chilly conditions Thursday morning. Expect lows dipping into the upper 20s in some spots, so anyone with sensitive plants or outdoor pets should take precautions before sunrise on Thursday.
Thursday afternoon will be the coolest day of the week, with sunshine boosting highs only into the upper 40s. This is a great day for errands or outdoor chores before the warmth returns. Overnight Thursday into Friday will remain mostly clear and cool, another chilly night to plan for, especially if you’re traveling or commuting early Friday.
Looking ahead to Friday, temperatures rebound nicely, climbing back into the mid-60s with mostly sunny skies. It’s shaping up to be one of the more pleasant days of the week, ideal for outdoor plans, yard work, or getting kids some fresh air after a week of variable weather.
How You Should Prepare This Week:
• Tuesday & Tuesday Night: Keep an umbrella or rain jacket handy for later in the day. While severe weather isn’t expected, scattered showers can make roads slick during the evening commute.
• Wednesday: Cooler air arrives. Dress in layers and be ready for a brisk start and a cool afternoon.
• Late Wednesday Night & Thursday: Low temperatures near freezing in spots mean outdoor plants may need protection, and pets should be brought inside at night.
• Thursday into Friday: Warming conditions return, which is great for weekend planning, but still keep an eye on the cold mornings earlier in the week.
In short, Simpson County will see a shift from mild and unsettled at the start of the week to cool and crisp by mid-week before rebounding into a mild and dry finish.
