SIMPSON COUNTY, Miss. — Here’s the part of the forecast many Mississippi residents have been waiting to hear.
Thursday and Friday could bring a noticeably different feel to Simpson County.
The key won’t necessarily be dramatically cooler temperatures.
Instead, it’s the humidity.
As drier air moves into the region, dewpoints should begin falling. That can make mornings and evenings feel considerably more comfortable, even if afternoon temperatures remain in the upper 80s or lower 90s.
There could still be a few showers or thunderstorms around, particularly Thursday and Friday, so the umbrella may not be completely out of the picture.
But the larger weather story is the changing air mass.
After a September stretch dominated by heat and humidity, lower dewpoints could provide some welcome relief.
And sometimes in Mississippi, a few degrees and a little less humidity can make all the difference.
Don’t expect sweater weather just yet.
But compared with what we’ve been experiencing?
We’ll take it.
Williams Weather Window will continue tracking the front and the cooler air behind it.
